Authorities of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) invite applications from suitably qualified candidates, for admission into any of the following one year Pre-degree Programmes in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, for the 2015/2016 Session:

2.	Curriculum Studies and Educational Technology (Education Science) CSET (i) Teaching subject – Physics	Five O’Level credits in English Language, Physics, one Science subject (Mathematics or Chemistry and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above	English Language, Physics, one Science subject and one other subject from the O’Level subjects listed above.

3.	Educational Management (Education Social Science) EDM (i) Teaching subject – Economics	Five O’Level credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, one of Government, Commerce, Geography and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. 	(ii) Teaching subject – Political Science	Five O’Level credits in English Language, Government or History, one of Economics, Commerce, Geography and any other two O’Level subjects listed above, plus at least a pass in Mathematics. 4.	Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counseling	Five O’Level credits in English Language, and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above	English Language and three other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
5.	Adult and Non-Formal Education	Five O’Level credits in English Language, and any other four subjects applicable to the specific Teaching subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET.	English Language, the teaching subject and two relevant subjects applicable to the specific Teaching Subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET.
6.	Human Kinetics and Health Education	Five O’Level credits in English Language, one Science subject preferably Biology, and three other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language one Science subject and two other subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.

Faculty of Education Pre-Degree Courses and Requirements.

1.	Fine Arts & Design [FAD]	English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language and any other three subjects as listed under the O’Level subjects
2.	French Preparatory [FPP]	English Language, French and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language, French and any other two Subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	(i). For successful candidates from the Pre-degree Programme, credit in French is not compulsory. (ii) The Certificat d Etudes Francaise, 2 Degree, is acceptable as a Credit Pass in French.
3.	Linguistics and Communication Studies [LCS]	English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.
4.	Religious and Cultural Studies [RCS]	English Language and any other four subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language and any other three Subjects from the O’Level l subjects listed above.
5.	Theatre and Film Studies	English Language, Literature-in-English and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.	English Language, Literature-in-English and any other two subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above.

 UNIPORT Pre-Degree Admission Method of Application.

        i.            Application for the various Programmes is online. Log on to www.uniport.edu.ng, click on application procedure and follow the instructions.

      ii.            Application Forms can be obtained online on payment of non-refundable fee at the designated Banks below, nation-wide, as follows:

• A.      N11, 150.00  (Eleven Thousand, one hundred and fifty naira)             –               Faculty of Humanities
• B.      N10, 650.00 (Ten thousand, six hundred and fifty naira)                      –               Faculty of Education

    iii.            Inconsistency in Name is not accepted to the University and may lead to disqualification, Candidates’ names on their O’level certificates, UTME results and other registration documents must be the same.

CLOSING DATE:  The sale of Application Forms will close on Friday, 18th September, 2015.

Aptitude Test: The University Aptitude Test will take place on Monday, 28th September, 2015.

NOTE WELL:All candidates wishing to transit to the Degree Programme, in addition to the required 5 credits, must

        i.            Pass the prescribed pre-degree examinations

      ii.            Have the appropriate Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subject combination and

    iii.            Have the National Minimum Score in the 2015/2016 UTME

 Materials needed for the Screening Exercise:

 Candidates are required to come with the following and be at the Venue by 8.00am.

Ø  Non-programmable Calculator (Programmable Calculators of the FX – 991ES Series, Mobile Phones, IPOD and similar gadgets are not allowed at the screening venue).
